| Children’s Friend is seeking Pre-kindergarten
teachers for the 2007/2008 school year.
The Pre-k program follows local public school calendars.
Each classroom has a lead teacher and an assistant teacher
providing instruction to 20 children.
Salary is based on level of certification,
with maximum compensation paid for teacher’s possessing
a current state-issued certificate.
Credential requirements are as follows:
1. Georgia certificate issued
by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission in:
a. Early Childhood (grades P-5), or
b. Elementary Education (grades P-8), or
c. Early Childhood/Interrelated Special
Education (grades P-5), or
d. Out-of-state, valid and current, official
teaching certificate
in Early Childhood
or Elementary Education
(acceptable only
during the teacher’s first year teaching in Georgia).
2. Bachelor’s Degree in:
a. Education field specified with P-12 endorsement
(i.e, Learning Disabilities (P-12),
Physical Education (P-12),
Music Education (p-12).
b. Early Childhood, or
c. An education/child development related
field,
documented by a certified transcript from the college or university, or
d. Family and Consumer Sciences (Child Development,
Child and Family Studies, etc.) or
e. Psychology or social work (not sociology)

3. Associates Degree or Technical
Degree in Early Childhood Care and Education or Child
Development
